New Home Update.

Hello there, its been a while since I’ve posted on here but if any of you follow me on Instagram you know I’ve moved house and have been super busy renovating it. If you are not really into home decor I’m sorry but over the past few months I have become obsessed over all things interior!

The journey began last year when I put my apartment up for sale and was on the hunt for a house. after falling in love with many homes and putting in offers of interest I lost heart a little bit because my apartment hadn’t sold and I would miss out on purchases. Then in October 2017 I accepted a sale and suddenly the panic set in to find a property quickly. Luckily a style of house came up that we had viewed in different areas a few times before and really loved the layout and size. We made a cheeky offer whilst out having lunch with my parents and within 10 minutes they accepted and just like that we had a new home.

They say moving house is up there as one of the most stressful things you will do in your life and despite my super OCD organising skills of course it all wasn’t as simple as that.

NOVEMBER 2017 Due to complete on 19th, have ordered boxes and started to pack up, sell and donate things I don’t want to take. Booked removals company.

DECEMBER 2017  Completion was delayed due to buyer working away and not being able to sign, entire apartment now packed in boxes, had to postpone removals company, luckily I labelled all the boxes so only have to box dive a few times.

CHRISTMAS 2017  Informed by solicitors nothing will happen now till after Christmas and new year as they are closed for festivities for 2 weeks! Now surviving on take aways and wearing same outfit on repeat, did manage to pull together a Christmas Day look through more box diving though.

JANUARY 2018  New year and new positive outlook, finally a date is given for completion so I re book the removals for the 2nd of Feb, have now also sold wardrobes, dining table, coffee table and bedroom furniture due to boredom.

FEBRUARY 2018 YEYYYYYYYYYYY! Moving day arrives, removal guys turn up and we load up the van, the poor men didn’t realise my apartment was two floors up with no lift but worked like troopers anyway. By lunchtime we were on the way to the new house to receive the keys at 1pm as agreed by the sellers, life was good.

5pm……. Sellers have only just finished moving out, our removal guys are in the local pub and my life possessions are in a van on the pub car park!

6pm……. Literally just dump every box into the new garage which wasn’t completely empty as the nice sellers have decided they couldn’t be bothered getting rid of the crap they didn’t want before moving. Then after a long very tiring day the final icing on the cake was the two removal guys telling me there was no way our two sofas would go up the stairs into the lounge????? Perfect!!!!!

10pm………Had a lovely hotpot at parents then checked into a local hotel exhausted!

I hope this blog post has updated you on my moving story and given you a little glimpse of our new place, I’m going to feature before and after photos of the work we have done so far in my next posts so stay tuned.

Much Love

Caroline XX
